The Major League Baseball regular season is more than half over, but the All-Star break represents the unofficial mid-way point of the season and is the perfect time for a status update on MLB regular season win totals.

The summer is a long grind on the baseball circuit and anything can happen over the final two months of the regular season. However, taking a look at these numbers will give a good indication of which teams are on the right track and which teams have some work to do in order to cash for Over bettors. (note: all data is based on cashing Over wagers)

When the regular season win totals were first released many bettors scoffed and giggled at the number that was associated with the defending champion Chicago Cubs - this was, of course, a franchise that was built to be the best team in baseball for a long time. Well, with only 74 games remaining in their regular season, the Cubbies need 53 wins to cash tickets for those loyal soldiers who bet Over 95 wins - that would be 53-21 to close out the season, a winning percentage of 71.6 percent.

While the Cubs have certainly not lived up to expectations, they are not the team requiring the biggest miracle finish to the season to cash those Over tickets. The San Francisco Giants were given a regular season win total of 89 and with only 34 wins before the All-Star break they will have to go 56-16 (77.8 percent) over their final 72 games remaining on the schedule. Losing Madison Bumgarner for most of the season to injury certainly doesn't account for all of their problems.

On the flip side of the disappointments are the teams that are playing above expectations thus far - teams at had regular season win totals that were much too low and will simply have to coast in the second half of the season to cash those Over tickets.

The Milwaukee Brewers have already won 50 games this season and will only require 22 wins over their last 71 games (30.9 percent) to reward Over bettors. The Arizona Diamondbacks (26-47, 35.6 percent) and the San Diego Padres (28-46, 37.8 percent) are also primed to cash those Over tickets and should be able to reward their backers with some cash.
